Dessert Wonderland – Immersive Worlds on Mobile AR

Featuring a pastel wonderland of Singaporean desserts, Dessert Wonderland is an augmented reality experience made to be viewed on Instagram via your mobile phone. Using colour pencils, the illustrator Studio Juliat started an ongoing project featuring local desserts during the lockdown. Using Instagram’s Spark AR Studio, the AR technologists duo GOWAAA turned these hand-drawn illustrations into an interactive AR experience. Float in a raspberry ripple ice cream ocean and bask in the sun made up of a pineapple tart. Catch a glimpse of the floating ice cream sandwich and take a screenshot of the ice kachang (shaved ice with syrup) mountains. About me:
Studio Juliat – Studio Juliat is an art and design consultancy helmed by illustrator Julia Tay, who is deeply influenced by nature and food. Her favourite mediums are pen/ink, colour pencils or mixed media. As a design graduate from Lasalle School of the Arts, digitalising her hand-drawn illustrations has led to an array of unique projects – from book illustrations to AR filters and art installations.
