COMPULSORY PHOTOGRAPHY PROGRAMME PROJECT BRIEF – 21 DAYS ISOLATION

With the current Covid – 19 crisis, the DUT Photography Programme has a responsibility and duty to respond meaningfully to this rare and unfamiliar situation we are faced with. We are a programme with over 100 visual story tellers and we need to show vision and foresight. Since the entire country is impacted severely, our photographic expertise and practice should be too.

The Photography Programme including all staff are requested participate in the following brief starting from today 27th March 2020:

Virtual Gallery

BRIEF:

Make one strong image per day which simply represents ‘isolation’, what. Dedicate at least 15 minutes per day in being mindful and active in documenting what best illustrates ‘isolation’ in your personal space that you are bound to for the next 3 weeks. Your daily image may vary and reflect differently each day – this is good. This is the power of story telling. To assemble a collection of images at the end will yield promising results. We all have a story to tell, everyone’s story is important.

Every student to submit 21 images (with RAW files), if the lockdown continues beyond 21 days, everyone to continue making images until lockdown ends. When the term commences your 21 images will be assessed and will count towards your end of year Applied Mark.
