Dianne Makings is the Festival Director of the Cape Town International Animation Festival.

Now in its seventh year, the CTIAF is the largest event of its kind in Africa and has had great success in creating a platform for the art and business of South African animation.

The Festival’s programme is designed to inspire and build both the local industry and audiences, by exposing them to world class talent and content through screenings, talks, workshops and masterclasses.

Previous year’s guest speakers include Academy Award nominated directors and filmmakers, Dreamworks Senior Animators, international IP development experts, Senior executives from Nickelodeon and VFX experts with experience working on big-budget blockbusters.

Originally she began her career in PR & Events with a focus on lifestyle and leisure clients.  She was later approached to join one of the largest advertising agencies in SA.  DraftFCB had a range of blue chip clients who were all interested in exploring and activating in the BTL space.

Within two years she was running the experiential department.  After five years in the role she had developed the department into a successful and sought after offering for their clients.

Dianne loves creating experiences for people and looks forward to growing the festival as a highlight on the international calendar.
